The Demonstrator of the CNR's project "Cultura e Territorio"

This portal is born as a Demonstrator of the main ideas of the CNR's "Progetto Interdipartimentale Cultura e Territorio" and as an implementation of its Conceptual Model. The Project is coordinated by the CNR's Dipartimento Patrimonio Culturale.

The core of the Demonstrator is a Content Management System aimed at providing a structured description of the CNR's research activities on Cultural Heritage, across various methodologies and technologies represented by selected classifications. The portal can be used as a demand-supply matching engine and intends to represent the first step of a complete platform supporting both internal and external communication. Its content has been obtained from selected sources.
Its main entry points are:

• Competence Map: a geometric visualization of the entity types of the Conceptual Model; from here search can be performed in equivalent access modalities, supporting different user profiles, based on the values of selected attributes and/or on the classification terms with which the entities have been annotated:
  - Distributions
  - Semantic search
• Classifications: this page lists the 9 taxonomies whose terms are used to classify the entities in the Competence Map; by clicking on the name of a classification, a tree view of it is obtained; the classification can be inspected by expandig/collapsing the tree nodes; also, a full-text search of its terms can be performed.
